Does it seem overwhelming or a long process to get to your final goal?
The last thing I want you to feel is tired or overwhelmed when going through the booking, the actual session and waiting for your gallery to be delivered. A quick overview is; you inquire, book online, sign a contract and send a deposit, we take beautiful photos, you get them back, and enjoy them!
Location;
So many options! I'm open-minded when it comes to this. Typically speaking - Fresh 48 is in the hospital, or it can be at home if you do a home birth. Newborn can be at home or at the studio. Family can be at the studio or a park or even at your home (in or out). The options are really limitless! If you can't think of a spot I have my trusty spots that I like to go to.
Styling;
There are a few answers for this topic under my "FAQ" tab(you're welcome to check that out!). My biggest concern is that you feel comfortable both in your clothes and what you spend on them. I really don't want you to feel pressured to go out and buy all new clothes. I encourage having one outfit/piece with pattern or texture, some solids (avoid too much black and very little white white). If you head to the Mama Lifestyle page there will be a link to take you to a Pinterest board with outfit ideas and the like!
YES! List;
*Yes to snacks and drinks on hand. No one wants to be hangry trying to take pictures! (I know I don't!)
*Yes to bringing fur family or having them in your session.
*Yes to lots of giggles and maybe some breaks to get energy out.
*Yes to working around naps and dinner. Being short on sleep does play a big role in how the session goes.
NO! List;
I don't have a many "No's". Maybe more tips than don'ts.
If you have little ones, talking to them ahead of time so they aren't super surprised by my camera being bigger than your phone.
Don't stress if they don't smile perfectly or if they have the wiggles, I have ways around that.
We get to meet face to face now! It's session day!
What should you expect once we start our session?
- I have a phrase I tell nearly everyone; "I'm going to get in your bubble!" And I mean that in the best way and I do my best to not be awkward about it. For family sessions I'm usually not so in your bubble because I have a lot more activity going on that I need to keep up with! But with Newborn/Fresh 48, with there being so many snuggles and closeness of the new little bundle you will hardly notice.
- I don't have you "pose" for every single shot. I love focusing on you interacting, connecting, allowing the little ones run around a bit (and maybe have you snatch them up for a quick tackle hug). You will walk away from your session with a handful of "posed", "look here at the camera" shots. But also a good amount of natural interactions.
- Typically a session is an hour long. With family sessions I do offer 30 minutes (immediate family only). But with Fresh 48 and Newborn it is usually an hour to an hour and half.
